The Buc Stops Here
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have finalized a five-year deal to hire Rutgers coach Greg Schiano as their new head coach, according to a league source.
The two sides had been busy putting the finishing touches on an agreement Thursday morning that gives Tampa Bay a new direction and Schiano, 45, his first NFL head coaching job.
Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice, who played for Schiano at Rutgers, was among former Scartlet Knights players to talk about the news on Twitter.
“Congrats to coach @GregSchiano the Bucs are getting a great man and a great coach. #salute,” he wrote. Rice is scheduled to be a free agent but has said he expects to be back with the Ravens.

*On a personal note: congrats to Coach Schiano. It’s definitely been a pleasure working with you. To see the work ethic that you’ve instilled in your players & staff resonates with everyone at Rutgers Athletics & the University. You’ve taught not only your teams, but each of us to keep chopping away at the problems and adversity that we face. I wish you nothing but the best of luck. I hope you will be as big of a success there as you were with us! Good luck.
