If you were thinking Heat fans would take the news of LeBron leaving Miami lightly, think again.
An image of the former Heat superstar was painted over shortly after James made his future plans known.
Only LeBron’s face was defaced in a mural, which is located at Northeast 29th Street between Miami Avenue and 1st Avenue, that also includes members of the Heat/s 2012 NBA championship team.
Artist Serge Toussaint spent two years creating the mural, but it’s not known if he has been made aware of his work being painted over.
No one knows who defaced the mural.

And now a moment of silence for a fallen cupcakery — a prayer for the Red Velvet Cheesecakes that will never be made, a paean to the empty calories that will never be consumed. Crumbs Bake Shop, a national chain based in New York with outlets in 10 cities including the Washington area, closed the doors of all of its stores Monday after a cursory announcement, the Wall Street Journal reported.
“Regrettably Crumbs has been forced to cease operations and is immediately attending to the dislocation of its devoted employees while it evaluates its limited remaining options,” the company said in a statement to The Wall Street Journal. Those options could include a bankruptcy filing, the spokeswoman said.
The scene in New York was reminiscent of bankers carrying boxes out of Bear Stearns after its 2008 collapse. The Journal: “I come into work today, I’m happy, I’m skipping to work, and suddenly I don’t have a job,” said Kareem Wegman, who has worked at the store for two years and said he has a family to support. The New York Daily News: “I honestly do not know what’s going to happen. All I know is we’re open right now, and the store is full so I can’t talk long,” said one worker at Crumbs on 72nd St. The New York Post: “It’s a real curveball for us,” said a manager at the Crumbs in Brooklyn Heights. “Normally, you get two weeks’ notice when you’re closing down — you don’t get one-day notice.” When it went public in 2011, Crumbs seemed to have it all. Entree into the market too big to be cornered by Magnolia’s. Cupcake momentum fueled by “Sex and the City” and “Saturday Night Live.” And big, big cupcakes. Then came ignominy. Balance sheets that ran red. (It lost $18.2 million last year, the Journal said.) A NASDAQ delisting. “Substantial doubt as to Crumbs’ ability to continue as a going concern.” In one day, 48 locations to zero. Why did Crumbs fail? Maybe it expanded too quickly. Should a mom-and-pop pastry shop founded on the Upper West Side in 2003 be competing with the many Starbucks on and around K Street in Washington, D.C.? Maybe it caught a trend too late. Now we want cronuts. Maybe it was the decor. The very successful Georgetown Cupcake proffers its sweets at a cheery shop with pink-painted walls and pretty window displays, where cupcakes beckon from artfully arranged tiered trays. Crumbs, on the other hand, hawked goods at train stations and in generic shops with plain walls and fluorescent lights reflecting off of cases of cupcakes parked in rows. Not cute. Not fun. Unlike Georgetown, not TV ready. Or maybe the cupcakes were too darn big. Let’s speak plainly: The size was a problem.

The Milwaukee Bucks have agreed to send two second-round draft picks to the Brooklyn Nets to secure the coaching rights to Jason Kidd, sources told ESPN.com on Monday.
The source told ESPN.com’s Andy Katz that the Bucks have talked to Kidd only about being the coach, not any kind of administrative position running basketball operations. The source said the negotiation was supposed to be between the owners, not involving any basketball personnel, before the story was leaked out by the New York Post. But the source said the negotiations are now being handled by Bucks general manager John Hammond and Nets GM Billy King.
The source said Hammond and high-ranking Bucks officials David Morway and Dave Babcock are all safe and that their jobs are not in jeopardy if Kidd is hired as coach.
A league source told ESPNNewYork.com that Lionel Hollins has already emerged as “a very serious candidate” to become head coach of the Nets with Kidd now going to Milwaukee.
“In a lot of ways he makes the most sense,” a league source said of Hollins. “He represents stability, and stability is very important right now. He rules with an iron fist and gets a lot out of his players, so he’d be very high on the list right now, and likely the leader.”
Ettore Messina, former coach of CSKA Moscow, also is a leading contender for the Nets’ opening, a source told ESPN.com.
Sources said Bucks co-owners Wes Edens and Lasry met with Kidd on Friday in New York City after asking for and receiving permission to talk to Kidd a few days before last Thursday’s NBA draft.
Lasry was familiar with Kidd and had a previous relationship but Edens did not. The source said Kidd told the owners that he would like to have the job. The source said Kidd was intrigued by coaching a young, rebuilding team that just added the No. 2 pick in the draft in Duke’s Jabari Parker and was looking for the challenge.
The source said the ownership wanted Kidd because he was able to handle a number of egos on the Nets in his first head coaching stint and guide them into the playoffs.
The ownership view of Kidd is that he was a great player, a good young coach and somebody who could be a good disciplinarian, the source said. The ownership saw someone who handled a lot of pressure in Brooklyn, held the team together and was one of the best teams in the East.
Brooklyn will receive draft picks in 2015 and 2019 from Milwaukee. The Bucks had been offering one second-round pick, but the Nets wanted a 2015 first-round pick in exchange, a negotiating chip the Bucks dismissed.
