The Boston Marathon says that bombs caused the two explosions heard at the finish line and that organizers were working with authorities to determine what happened.

Organizers made the announcement on the groups’ Facebook page on Monday.

Authorities have headed onto the course to carry away the injured while stragglers in the 26.2-mile race were rerouted away from the site.

A new concept image of the upcoming iPhone 6 and iPhone 5S showed without its iconic home button.
This concept is from the collaboration between Nowhereelse.fr’s Steve Hemerstoffer and designer Martin Hajek that delivers an intriguing look at what a future iPhone might look like.

One design element that has defined the iPhone is its home button, but this component has been criticized by some for taking up too much space at the bottom of the handset and preventing Apple from using a larger screen on the smartphone to compete with the large-screened competition from Android handsets.

There have been some proposed alternatives to the front-positioned home button in some fan designs, including shifting it to the sides of the handset. However, the new fan concept takes a different approach by using technology similar to a trackpad on the front side of the phone. New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony has put together an MVP-type season, and fans have noticed.

For the first time since the NBA began releasing jersey sales in 2001-02, Anthony has the top-selling jersey in the NBA this season, climbing ahead of Miami Heat All-Star LeBron James who had the top spot from April 2012 through November 26, 2012. Numbers are based on sales at NBAStore.com and the NBA Store in Manhattan.

The top 15 best-selling individual NBA jerseys, according to the league:

1. Anthony, up from No. 4
2. James, who has been No. 1 three times
3. Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant
4. Los Angeles Lakers’ Kobe Bryant, who has been No. 1 six times
5. Chicago’s Derrick Rose, who has not played this season

6. Brooklyn’s Deron Williams
7. Miami’s Dwyane Wade
8. Boston’s Rajon Rondo
9. Clippers’ Chris Paul

Anthony Davis didn’t have the strongest start to his career as a first-round draft pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2010. According to Pro Football Focus, he was the only offensive tackle with double-digit penalties, sacks allowed, and quarterback hits allowed that season.

And then coach Jim Harbaugh arrived.

Davis has turned into a mauler in the 49ers’ running game and has improved greatly in pass production — and he was rewarded for his efforts Friday.

Davis has agreed to a five-year, $37.295 million contract extension that will keep him under contract through 2019, a source told NFL.com’s Albert Breer. The deal, which was first reported by ProFootballTalk, includes $17 million in total guarantees, according to Breer.

It’s the first of a few possible important extensions for the 49ers with Colin Kaepernick, Michael Crabtree, and Aldon Smith potentially coming in future years.

The 49ers’ offensive line has enviable continuity in 2013, with all five starters and a few key backups returning. Guard Mike Iupati also figures to be a player that San Francisco wants to sign long-term because the running game remains the foundation of its offense.

Plaxico Burress Auctions Home to Satisfy Debts

Receiver Plaxico Burress found his way back into the NFL late last season, and he currently is on the Steelers’ offseason roster. But he apparently lacks the liquidity to pay his debts.

Or maybe he just doesn’t want to.

Regardless, Mike Garafolo of USA Today reports that a judge has ordered the auction of Plaxico’s Virginia Beach home in order to satisfy a $159,000 judgment arising from an automobile accident that occurred in 2008.

The property has a value of $460,000, and Burress will get whatever is paid above and beyond the pending debt.
