One Band, One Sound
The end of one of the biggest and fastest growing DJ groups in the world was announced with a simple message on their website. The DJ Supergroup Swedish House Mafia, or SHM, announced their next tour will be their last. On the band’s official website the message was titled, “Message” and the break up message read as the following:
“Today we want to share with you, that the tour we are about to go on will be our last. We want to thank every single one of you that came with us on this journey. We came, we raved, we loved.
Axwell, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso
a/k/a Swedish House Mafia
TOUR DATES
Milton Keynes Bow, England. Our last UK show. JUly 14th, 2012
Ushuaia, Ibiza. July 4th – Auth 29th, 2012
Friends Areana, Sweden. November 24th, 2012
The final leg of this journey will be announced in August.”
With that last piece of the message the DJ powerhouse left mystery and possibilities linger on with other countries like the United States wondering if they’ll be on the final tour list. While touring may be at it’s end and people experiencing the DJ masters live will be at a close, Rolling Stone Magazine theorized that some collaborations may still be in the cards for Swedish House Mafia before they quit producing.
In an interview of Sebastian Ingrosso last week with Rolling Stone a discussion about working with Paul McCartney was brought up. Mr. Ingrosso compared SHM’s music to the Beatles and said they do what they Beatles did in the past and it, “doesn’t matter that we do dance music.”
If the band is going to end it, they are surely leaving the complete end open to mystery as potential tour dates linger in the details. Swedish House Mafia rave fueling rock stars rose to fame around the world when their first official single release, “One” became a big hit. Performances at Coachella 2012 and a sell out performance in Madison Square Gardens solidified their fame in the US.
It looks like the members of the DJ group SHM will start growing their solo careers more in the future as had been suggested in the past. Look out for their solo performances under their full names: Axel Christofer Hedfors, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso.
