1 morning, he was jumping over hurdles & hunting for treats @campbowwowbridgewater. He came home with a limp; we thought it was his arthritis. 48 hours later, Marley lost motor skills in his legs. 12 hours later, he was in surgery to repair a Herniated Disc.

I want to tell dog parents about IVDD. Please look up the symptoms and methods of prevention.
Dragging limbs, arching back, inability to stand or unsteadiness, decreased appetite, whimpering, restlessness when nesting, difficulty during potty time, limping, neck pain and more.
If you see signs of this, please speak to your vet asap.
Much can be done with 6-8 weeks of rest in their pen/crate.

Luckily, Marlz is a warrior. Thank you to Dr Crooks & the team @eclipsevetcare for doing everything possible to remove the damaged disc and relieve the spinal compression on Marley's spine. You've done so much, helping us through this journey.

It's been a tough one.
Marlz's room was moved to Melissa's home office to avoid me having to carry him up and down stairs.
Sleep patterns are non-existent. Him needing medication around the ⏰️ has us sleeping at 1am to wake up by 6.
Since he's on meds, he believes he's fully healed.
Have you ever tried to tell a beagle to stop following their nose? He can't walk more than 1 or 2 minutes for a potty break, but he itches to leave the front yard.

We're thrilled with his progress in recovery so far.
We canceled our whale watching and hiking trip to Kauai and Maui (sorry friends that I forgot to text you telling you we wouldn't be doing da kitchen and mama's fish this year)...
But I wouldn't have it any other way.

This experience has even sparked our philanthropic side... and you all know how many foundations I already work with.... so why not add another one that's our own?

Marley's Mission is in its infancy, and once fully formed, we'll be raising money to help pet parents who can't afford the up front cost of surgical intervention for their furry family members.

My parents made sure I learned about dope music from every genre. My brother and I started our pseudo DJ careers in their basement, playing records and trying to cut on his OG @technics_global 1200.
One of my first radio shows, I did an Oldies mix on the air with his vinyl.... the vinyl that started my journey as a tastemaker.
As a DJ and Music Director, I'm constantly listening to music.
BUT, to be able to sit and play the Classics in our home, on my first 1200 mk2 that I repurposed as a listening station, it just hits differently!

Fun fact, I used these records during my NYE set for 18,000 people, pre Serato... crowd went bonkers when I dropped My Cherie Amor.

The word no can either serve as a deterrent or a learning experience.
When I tell people: "do not compare yourself to anyone else and their social media" its because you're only seeing highlights.
I get turned down on my pitches 99% of the time.
I always ask if there's a reason and work towards resolving that in the future.
Whenever I think of an idea, I'm already anticipating that a rejection or even a non response is awaiting me.
BUT I don't let it hinder my progress of life and pursuit of the dream.

I swing for the fences, and when they say "yes", well that's the 1% that makes experiencing all of the no's worth it.
